A book has been produced “Ken Howard Watercolours in Academe” which is a tribute to my late husband based on a diary Malcolm Horton kept during a weeklong visit to the “University of the South” in Tennessee, where Ken had gone to fulfill a commission to produce three watercolours of that beautiful university.
The Tennessee commission was part of an arts/alumni project Ken took part in to raise money for the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge and leading Independent Schools.
Ken produced a total of 21 paintings for this project in the 1990s.These are all in this book plus ten oil paintings of Venice, Cornwall and London and the famous crucifixion painting in Northern Ireland which accompany the obituary extracts, and fellow artist tributes.
The diary encapsulates many of the aspects of Ken that went to make up the unique person who was my dear husband for twenty two years.
All profits from the sale of this book will go to the PSPA (Progressive SupernuclearPalsy) Charity, the condition from which my husband died.
The book containts 31 of Ken’s paintings plus photographs taken in Tennessee. Text is by Malcolm Horton the fine art publisher/historian and contains 84 pages and is priced at £25 Hardback.- Copies may be obtained by contacting Malcolm Horton on malcolmchorton@gmail.com
These watercolours have been specially commisioned in conjuction with colleges concerned from members of the Royal Watercolours Society and Royal Academy.
